Had to return my most recent Bondi 9 order, too narrow and was told Hoka changed their entire line of women shoes to make the Regular size narrower but offer a few colors in Wide and X Wide which limits my color preference considerably. Not sure if the Wide will fit like the Bondi 8 Regular and their return/refund process can take up to 15 days. I have two pairs of the Bondi 9 and ordered one in black to be my \"dress\" shoe. The problem is the black fits differently. I've tried two different pairs because I thought my mind was playing tricks on me when the first pair was wider than the Blue Spark pair I got first at our local Fleet Feet store. From the moment I tried it on, it was perfect. Hugs my foot while allowing toe room. Cushioning is perfect, not too firm and not too soft. The gray pair, ordered online, also fits well. But the black with white lettering one I returned was too wide in the forefoot. My foot sloshed from side to side unless the laces were super tight. Very disappointing. After a couple of months I ordered a second black pair from the Hoka site and it, too, was wider than either the Blue Spark or gray pair. I returned them both because I had to tighten the laces to the point of about 3/4 of an inch gap between the lace holes where it's more than an inch on the other two pairs. The glue on the sole failed and I tried to get the warranty which was a complete nightmare and wasted hours of my time. I provided everything they asked for an each time they made an excuse as to shy they couldn't process it.\nInitially, I was told I can't warranty it in-sore (where I bought it). Then I was told I could ONLY warranty it in store and then I was told I can send it to them but I should have to pay shipping BECAUSE I bought it in store.\n\nAll that after being after for a gazillion photos which I provided in Text (because they never answer their phone) and told to let the warranty department know when they email me that the photos are there. But no, they made me send all the photos again in email.\n\nOne thing after another I am still have the sneakers with the failed glue and a sole that came apart. JUST HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They don't read their own previous notes, let alone anyone else's and that's only after you email them answers to their questions 5 times because they just don't respond. The heel strike feels firm and abrupt, the stride transition is less smooth, and the shoe creates a subtle forward or \"downhill\" sensation with increased pressure on the toes. After short walks, I experienced knee discomfort, which I never had in Bondi 7. When the Bondi 8 didn't work, I was fortunate to purchase Bondi 7 again (twice) when HOKA briefly brought it back due to high demand.\nThe Bondi 9 may suit runners, but longtime Bondi users who primarily walk may find it much less forgiving. My old Bondis lasted me years, and that's when I actually used to run in them, now I just go on 2ish mile walks about 3-4x a week (that is the only time I wear these shoes btw). The bottom on the shoes gets worn out, and starts peeling, and the fabric starts coming apart at the sides.
