{"reviews":[{"id":7114741,"locale":"en_US","rating":1,"title":"poor bolts","text":"I bought this and tested it on my camp weekend and it turns out not what I expected. when I received it, I notice the small bolts has oil/liquid leaking out from the bolt slowly, I thought that was normal, I wiped it and charge them normally. once I use them on campsite, bolts has liquid leaking, it does light up but it only last less than 1 hour, the other bolts that was dry, it last till next night I use. (I did turn them on when sky turned dark, turned them off when I go to sleep) I contacted customer service about the issue, they did sent me a replacement, however, it turns out worse! the package was open, look like been used and more bolts has that oil/liquid leak out. I contacted the customer service again, they offer me to replace the ones that has problem but only under circumstances that not light up and require a video to proof, which I did try to send the video but the file was too big and not allow me to attach. I emailed explaining I can't attach the video, seems like they don't listen or read my messages at all, cause they ask for same thing from me. I required a fully return and refund of course, they not accept. So turns out I just have it sit and no use. I found those yard $1 solar lights are working even better than this. \nproducts are beautiful looking, but honestly, function does not meet basic requirements. I mean pulling them out straight upwards has lead to them being bent. Using a rubber mallet to hammer them straight down, has also lead to them breaking. Support has told me they DO NOT sell replacement stakes, nor is it covered under warranty. So BUYER beware.\n\nOtherwise, the products best feature being bulbs that hook into the stakes are a cool idea. In theory. The bulb twist mechanism is finnicky. The case charging has been unreliable. The solar charger is unusably slow. The color temperature of the lights is too harsh. Even on the brightest setting they do not provide enough ambient light. I had hoped to use them inside as string lights when not camping, but they won't even grip paracord string as they are advertised to do. I have owned both BioLite as well as Luci products for many years, but this product falls very short of the quality I've come to expect from both brands. I contacted Biolite when I received the item but they have not responded. Every now and then they have a lemon of a product and it seems difficult if not impossible to get a response. I have site lights that don't work and BioLite never responded. It all packs together and you can use the lights in a multiple set of ways, You can put them on your guy lines or use the stake option to put them near the ground. I like the twist on and that you can do it in either direction.
