{"reviews":[{"id":7304503,"locale":"en_US","rating":1,"title":"TrailMix 3.0 Has Changed for the Better?","text":"First let me say that Nathan's customer service has been great but:\n\nI have had 1 TrailMix 2.0 and 4 TrailMix 3.0 and all have failed with similar faults in the retaining elastic, in addition the latest one had a zipper failure after only a couple months use. I have requested and received two replacements with no hassle through the years, the latest this week is a different 3.0 than the one it replaces, it drives me crazy when manufacturers change their design but don't change the product name or model.\n\nMy first 4 3.0 versions were essentially the same but had different tag numbers inside, P1811, P1912, P2005, P2203, the only difference was at some point the bottle tops changed to a design that is super hard to get liquid out of, I use the older bottle tops for that reason. It’s a little too big for my needs and rubs on my stomach. Great for over 10-15 mile runs but anything under is a little large. For my last few runs, the water bottles were progressively becoming less secure, bouncing around more. I looked closely at the holsters, and the elastic bands that secure the bottles was becoming worn from rubbing on the holsters, both left and right holsters. The elastic is not durable enough to last, to support the bouncing weight of the water bottles, and the holsters have sharp edges that wear through the elastic. I would not recommend this product if you use it for running. I bought one 23 years ago, which was excellent quality and held the water bottle in place no problem. To this day it still works. I have since bought two more modern ones to enjoy the better features – fits my phone. The first of which I have already thrown away because the water bottle holder stretches and the bottles jump out. The second one I’ve had for two years and I can no longer trust it even on a regular run let alone a race. Even when you open the nozzle fully, you have to squeeze like hell to get a decent stream of water. The previous bottle design, once the nozzle was open, water flowed freely with just a bit of squeeze. I don't want to have to fight the bottle in order to drink. And because the design of the belt and bottle changed, the old bottles don't fit in the belt holsters, and the old caps don't fit on the new bottles. I did that for about a month and decided to try a run without burping them and there was no difference, the bottles don’t move. The bag is plenty big enough for my phone, chapstick, keys, gels. I keep my mace in one of the loops on the side so I just have to reach down if needed. The belt itself is pretty stretchy, I am a petite framed person so I have to over tightened the belt at first but as soon as the bottles and bag rest on my hips the belt doesn’t move.
