Mine has a 26\" barrel on it as well. I LOVE it!! 650 yards 8\" gong, no issues. The rubberized grips make a huge difference as well. I also have a 700 BDL wood stock in 30-06, with a Leupold glass on it. Beautiful firearm. Both are my favorite rifles for target, hunting and long range. IMO, Remington rifles are worth every penny.
